Thieves stole a whole cash machine from a Co-operative supermarket in England

A whole cash machine was stolen from a Co-operative supermarket in Masham, North Yorkshire, during a ram raid

Thieves used a JCB digger to smash the store’s front and steal the entire cashpoint
The Co-op store on Park Street, Masham, was attacked in the early hours of Monday, January 23. Thieves used a stolen JCB to smash the shop’s cash machine out of the wall, before taking it away on a stolen Mitsubishi L200 pick-up.

The thieves left Masham along Leyburn Road, and stopped just outside the town to try to gain access to the machine, possibly with grinding tools, police have confirmed.

The JCB, Mitsubishi and cash machine have all now been recovered, and the thieves did not manage to get inside the machine meaning all the money was recovered.

Officers are now appealing for information to help with their investigation.
