[WATCH VIDEO]; Dramatic Near-Miss As Two Planes Almost Collide On Runway At Barcelona’s El Prat Airport

A Russian jumbo jet was forced to abort his landing and head back into the sky after another passenger plane suddenly appeared in front of him on the runway.

The near-miss captured on camera shows the terrifying moment disaster loomed as the Boeing 767 from Russian airline UTair was making its final approach to land at Barcelona.

But seconds from touchdown the Russian pilot was forced to pull up his landing gear as a he making a final approach to land as an Aerolineas Argentinas Airbus A340 taxied across his path.

The Russian Boeing screamed back into the air, barely missing the taxing plane, as it was forced back into the air to circle the airport before landing safely on the second attempt.

After that incidence the plane landed safely on runway 02, and the Argentinas took-off heading Buenos Aires.

But the Spanish Airports and Air Navigation (AENA), claimed there was never any danger of a collision as there was sufficient space to carry out a landing meaning the second plane on the landing would have been gone before the time UTair pilot had touched down at Barcelona's El Prat Airport, in eastern Spain.

A pilot will perform the manoeuvre like this when they do not have a clear view of the landing, whether that is because of weather or any other reason that leads them to doubt that it might be safe to go ahead.
